MPACT HISTORY, PURPOSE & CODE

HISTORY

In the 1950s, women began to see a need for a program to teach missions to young women and to prepare them for involvement in Women’s Ministries. The National Women’s Ministries Department developed the Missionettes program in response to this need and to establish a systematic plan for the older women to train the younger women based on Titus 2:3-4. The name has recently been changed to Mpact.

The first Missionettes club was officially chartered in January 1956. Since then, clubs have been organized across the U.S. and in many other countries. Along the way, revisions have been made to the program, but the ultimate purpose–winning girls to Jesus Christ and teaching them to live victoriously–has never changed.

PURPOSE

  1. Win girls to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance.
  2. Teach girls to obey everything Jesus commanded us–helping girls to develop spiritually and mentally.
  3. Provide encouragement, support, and accountability through lasting Christian relationships.
  4. Provide an environment for girls to develop their gifts and abilities.
  5. Acquaint girls with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ our Lord.

CODE

Whatsoever things are true,
Whatsoever things are honest,
Whatsoever things are just,
Whatsoever things are pure,
Whatsoever things are lovely,
Whatsoever things are of good report;
If there be any virtue,
And if there be any praise,
Think on these things.
Philippians 4:8
